As part of the analysis services, Innovhub's analytical experience led its “Laboratory of fats, derivatives and oil technologies, Oils and fats Area” to choose the SRA analytical solution
The configuration consisting of GERSTEL workstation and Agilent GC/MS system is able to automate the full range of AOCS Cd29 methods, or:
- AOCS Cd 29a-13 – Unilever method
- AOCS Cd 29b-13 – SGS 3 in 1 (with the exclusion of the thermostating phase at -25 ° C)
- AOCS Cd 29c-13 – analogous to ISO 18363-1 and DGF C-VI 18 methods.
This solution was chosen as it ensures greater automation in sample preparation for analysis of 2-MCPD and 3-MCPD (including their esters) and glycidyl esters of fatty acids in vegetable / animal oils and fats. This has made it possible to achieve the goal of standardizing all the operations envisaged by the three AOCS methods, reducing operator intervention as much as possible and optimizing analysis times.
