The OI Analytical PFPD pulsed flame photometric detector offers superior sensitivity and selectivity to easily and accurately determine sulfur, phosphorus and 26 other elements.
Compared to traditional FPD detectors, it offers: 10 to 100 times greater sensitivity and 10 times greater selectivity; low gas consumption and reduced operating costs.
Key features of the detector include a linear and equimolar response for quick and easy calibration. In particular, its linear and equimolar response to sulfur allows selective measurement of individual sulfur species from low ppb to ppm levels, and total sulfur as the sum of individual peaks.
The detector is capable of recording simultaneous mutually selective chromatograms (e.g., S+C or S+P).
The modular design keeps electronics and flow modules separate, allowing for better long-term stability and less maintenance than other S-selective detectors, such as SCD/XRF, also thanks to the self-cleaning function that eliminates soot formation, or "coking".
Principal Applications:
- sulfur in petrochemicals
- organophosphorus pesticides
- flavor and fragrance analyses
- sulfur in beverage-grade CO2
- chemical warfare agents
- organotin compounds
- organometallic detection
- explosives analysis
P, S, As, Si detection (semiconductors)
- sulfur in pharmaceuticals.
The detector is compatible with simultaneous PFPD and MS acquisition analysis.
