Combustion Elemental Analyzer with UV Fluorescence Detection

TE Instruments' XPLORER-TS analyzer offers high performance in an ultra-compact package for sulfur quantification in a wide range of matrices.

UV fluorescence detection technology ensures accuracy and precision from trace levels to high concentrations (ppb/ppm).

The hardware architecture allows for the management of liquid, solid, and gaseous samples with interchangeable "fast-switch" modules.
Sample introduction is flexible:

  • In manual mode, it uses a syringe driver (liquids) or a software-assisted sample vessel (solids);
  • In automatic mode, it interfaces with external samplers for unattended operation.

The TEIS system coordinates the entire workflow, managing the rapid replacement of introduction modules in less than a minute. It is the standardized solution for laboratories requiring maximum flexibility and consistent productivity.

Features and Benefits

  • Analytical Technology: determination of total sulfur by combustion oxidation and UV fluorescence detection (or chemiluminescence for nitrogen)
  • Design and Dimensions: ultra-compact architecture with a small footprint, designed to optimize laboratory space
  • Analytical Range: dynamic detection capability, from ultra-trace levels (< 1 ppb) to high concentrations (> 10,000 ppm)
  • Matrix Versatility: multi-matrix system suitable for the analysis of liquids, solids, gases, and LPG
  • Fast-Switch Modularity: modular design allows for interchangeable introduction modules (liquids/solids/gases) in less than 60 seconds
  • Sampling Management:
    • Manual Mode: Assisted injection via integrated syringe driver (digital volume and speed control) and solids introduction via automated boat
    • Automatic Mode: Support for 24/7 unattended operation through integration with dedicated autosamplers
  • Control Software: TEIS (Trace Elemental Instruments Software) platform for intuitive management of methods, workflows, and analytical data.

Applications

  • Chemicals (e.g., plastics, aromatics, olefins, and paraffins)
  • Refinery products (e.g., crude oil, naphtha, lubricants, gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil)
  • LPG and gases (e.g., pentane, butane, propane, propylene).
